Hey there, dudettes (and, presumably, dudes)!
So I last week I was bemoaning the fact that I cannot keep track of all the new releases (many sequels, book 3s) coming out over the next few months. I see the tweets and cover reveals and launch party dates but the truth is, I can barely keep track of what I have going on in my own life uh, this weekend, much less specific dates of when dozens of books are releasing. That doesn't mean I'm not excited (I am!) it just means I'm... er, human?
"I wish there was an app for that!" I said. Well, ask and you shall receive, darling. Because I am here to show you what my eyes have seen: the light.
First up, Any New Books. This site allows you to input your email address, select genres you like and they'll email you a weekly list of new releases. I love this because it's so stinkin' simple.
If you want to follow a specific author, not just genre, then check out Track New Book which will allow you to track by author or subject. This one takes a little more heavy lifting (or at least organization) on the front end. It also has a seed feature that is like pandora/spotify radio in that it will give you books that are similar to a book you love.
Author Alerts allows you to create a watch list of authors whose books are releasing soon (including those that are "upcoming" which means anywhere from announced to en route down the publishing trail).
Finally, an app called When it Drops What I love is it tracks new releases of all sorts of media (how many times have I seen a trailer in the theater, thought that looks cool, then totally forgotten the film's release-- even title?-- by the end of the feature?).
So there you have it. Websites and apps that will do the organizing for you-- never miss a release again!
